Nationals Senator Matt Canavan says manufacturing jobs will be lost and power bills will go up as the push to shut coal mines continues.
“We’re not developing our own resources, we’re not keeping open reliable power stations,” he told Sky News host Paul Murray.
“And so when something like the Ukraine war happens, and suddenly we don’t have access to the markets of Russia and Ukraine, we can’t even provide adequate power at a reasonable price.”
